nice work

Thanks everybody, should be running by next week this time... finally!

lol the distributor and spark plugs should have given it way but its that darn gold paint and chrome stuff that takes your eyes off of it. look fancy in there! lol cept for that rusty frame... lol

Ya, that's 'universal gold' engine paint or enamel by duplicolor, good stuff and relatively cheap

I'm still looking for the junk to cover the frame that GM uses. If I can't find it I'll settle for some eastwood chassis paint & rust cure.

GODDAMN IT

My converter won't be in till next week. :x

I'm angry and frustrated and excited all at once. What'dya call that feeling

I think it's called anxiety...

that must be what it is.

So I have everything now except some dummy exhaust manifolds (and torque converter :? ). I need to heat treat my ceramic headers (it's what I get for being cheap) so it's time for a trip to the junkyard to find some 30$ manifolds. That way I can heat treat them after my engine is broken in... maybe the junkyard'll take em back if I tell them what they're for

or just throw them on craigslist.org. thats where i got my headers for my elky for $60.

The cheapest set of manifolds was 50$... I thought about unbolting the ram horns off of the my other engine/exhaust but that's a lot of work

Has anyone heat treated ceramic headers with a heat gun, i've got one that reaches 1200 degrees F (...or propane torch?). I think this should work if I apply the heat evenly and quickly in stages. I just don't want to put them in the oven cuz it smeeeeeeeells

Ok, torque converter is in today, goin to pull the engine and bolt everything up, I should have a video of the engine running in a few days time. I don't know how to load a video though, anyone know how?

I busted the sh*t outa my thumb today drilling some aluminum. The bit broke and then the drill decided my thumb was a good place to start a hole 🙁
