I remember coming across a thread a while back that said there is a extra step shops forget to do when alignment is done on older cars because newer cars dont have it?

What would that be becuase tommrow im going to get mine done and i want to make sure it is not forgoten.

Thanks

That would be the camber/caster adjustments. It's a little bit more involved on these cars, so some places will try to get away with just checking toe.

One place I went to wanted to charge me full price to set the toe and then an hour a side to do the caster and camber adjustment. They told me this after my car was set up and after I had to'd the guy at the counter I wanted factory specks for caster and toe but a 1º neg camber when I first went in. No mention at that time the extra charge for the camber. Another place that specialises in Vettes did the toe and camber but said there is no caster adjustment on my car. That surprised me cause I could have sworn Vettes had an upper A arm. I finally got it done at a shop I know of that I didn't think they did alignments. They did a really nice job.

Just had mine done. Needed it and wanted it for the track.

Call some chassis and race car shops. Its actually easy to do the right way. maybe took the guy an hour or so. some alignment turntables. a hub that locks on the tire. a few adjustments and we were set.

ran me about $140 but also had him check my rear (adjustable suspension)
