Getting the F' Outta Dodge.

Does SK not have curbs in town?

I remember Corner Gas had no curbs but didn't know if that's just an SK thing or a CTV filming thing.

Yes, these are the things that roll through my mind....

Rural towns are far less likely to have curbs from what I've seen. The cities have that sweet sweet curb money.

We're getting some work done today. It was cool to show Tatiana that not just men can be heavy equipment operators.

My Brother in Law insisted we go on a fishing trip. So we got on the road with our two oldest kids at the crack of dawn yesterday and headed two hours North to Prince Albert National Park to get onto Crean Lake.

Evidently it was pike season and yours truly hadn't cast in anger in well over two decades, probably three. My BIL is a serious fisherman, and really competitive. So it was going to be an interesting day.

Best way to get kids to sit still on the dock? Tell them if they don't hold the boat it will float away.

The weather was mint.

I pulled in four or five decent sized units. Tatiana got a few too, and the largest catch estimated at around 40 inches. No pictures, just panic and fish stories.

Lunch was hot dogs in the middle of nowhere.

Back onto the water.

They can't all be winners. The disappointment is palpable. Mostly because she wanted to catch another and club it.

Decided to try to catch a beaver instead.

Yeah, this province really sucks. 🙄

Did your girls enjoy themselves? They are probably gonna remember that trip more than you realize.

Damn 2 hours to find a lake? Or was there something special about it?

We have 100,000 lakes here. Literally. 100,000.

So everyone has "their" lake. This is my BIL's. It actually takes a bit of effort to get into Crean Lake so there wasn't more than 4-5 boats on it all day.

We only took Tatiana, Talia will go next time. But, yes she had a blast... impressed my BIL.

I do believe you are right. I remember my boating, camping and cottage vacations as a kid.

Plus, how to you forget fighting a fish that feels like it weighs more than you on the end of the line?

City kids are groomed to be little wussies.

I thought you had a ton of lakes up there. Was it a 2 tracker to get there or something?
