I had my dog out to poop and she found a baby robin with mostly down and lots of pink showing. She did not grab it luckily. Watched some youtube vids and read some google stuff. A couple had the same ideas. I drilled some small holes in a plastic bowl, screwed it to a limb with 2 screws a couple inches apart, and placed a wash cloth inside. I softly grabbed the bird and placed him in the bowl. I have a creek in my back yard and killed a snake earlier. That bird would have been an easy meal. So I'm going to bed feeling better than I would have just leaving it on the ground. I don't really like taking lives of nature but snakes and spiders are my personal exceptions. Lol

My Mom called me last year sounding a little upset and she proceeded to tell me that she had found a baby Robin that had fallen through a metal grate above her basement window and so she used some rubber gloves and was able to get it out and just after she set it down under the Maple tree out front a hawk swooped down and grabbed it with it's talons and flew away and she just stood there in disbelief.

Just watched some Robins that built a nest on my electric meter and proceed to have some babies. One did fall out of the nest which I put back with some rubber gloves and all was good till they left the nest.
