Anyone have any pictures of a Glasstek cowl hood on a Cutlass?

I've had a VFN 4" cowl in the past but was curious what the Glasstek looked like. I think I like its profile a little better than the VFN. Seems to flow with the body lines a little better.

What about any other hood on a G-body? Does anyone have the dimensions of the stock H/O hood bulge?

Thanks,

I have some pictures with a 4" cowl hood from US Body source that I'd be glad to send ya. Obviously I'm not smart enough to post pics on this site. I put some in the "album" but can't seem to get em on the message board.

Cool, thanks:

That's essentially what I'm looking for. The hood scoop starts at the very front edge of the hood. My old VFN actually started a few inches further back on the hood. Didn't think it looked as good.

How did you like the fit and finish of the hood? I've heard mixed reviews about US Body source.

Thanks,

Mine is a bolt on hood and I have been very pleased with it. The ONLY issue I have is the fact that it is starting to bow in the middle due to the tension of the springs over the years. But that has nothing to do with the original fit and finish of the hood. US Body Source was great to deal with because I wound up with a bolt on hood AND a pin on hood. I ordered the pin on hood originally, received a bolt on hood. Called them and they said..... Just keep it and we'll send ya another one. Helluva deal.... LOL... Then I wound up using the bolt on hood anyway...
If I remember correctly... The ONLY trimming I had to do was where the back of the cowl part was still squared off when I received the hood. I think I used a plastic solo cup to draw the rounded edge on it and hand filed it till it looked right. This hood has been on my car for about 12 years now.

Awesome, thanks.

In the past on my fiberglass VFN, I popped the hood springs off the original hinges and then drilled holes through the hinges themselves. When I raised the hood, I'd insert a bolt into the hinge to keep the hood up. Simple and quick.

This time around though I have a pair of aluminum hood hinges that should work out better.

Thanks,

Plus... Back when I bought my hood, There were only about 2 companies that made a cowl hood for a cutlass like mine. One was in California and one was in Fla. Well I live in Ga. so the greatly influenced my decision on who to buy from. I may be a little more picky if I was buying one now though.....
But like I said earlier.... I can't complain about mine...

Looking at US Body Sources website I see they also make a "pan" that lets you seal off the underside of the cowl to the engine. That has me leaning towards them.
