I saw this posting on FM and it made me curious because it appears to have a driver's side starter and front oil pressure port.
My first BBC was a mildly built 70's era 454 that I installed in my Monte and I have never had anything smaller than that since then so I never really looked at the 427.
The guy has not responded with casting numbers for the block and heads yet so I was just wondering if anyone knows about these older BBC Goodwrench engines.

I am not interested in buying it just learning about it's specs.

Tall deck truck motor. Oval ports= lower performance version. Nothing wrong with it if you get it for cheap. Great for a street-only cruiser for doing burnouts. But drag racing? There's better options. That's just my opinion.

Yep that’s a tall deck 427. Stump pulling torque, they don’t rev much past 3500.

Boost and a cam will solve that. Couple of cheap GT45s and done!

Perfect for that ol’ 5 ton crane truck , awesome cold start sound and gets about 6 miles to the gallon once it’s warmed up .
Worked at a place years ago that had one and a brand new ford ( I think) cabover diesel 3 ton crane truck
Both of them with a full load ,the chev would out pull the diesel every time

Not sure as it’s a starter as an adapter for oil cooler and remote filter. But yes it’s a truck tall deck motor.
