1985 FE3X Darth Vader I
Owned by RE Olds Museum

It's still on the docket as of this evening. Sounds messy in terms of the title. I've been a Barrett-Jackson client for serveral years. If there's any title questions they'll pull the car. Hate to see the RE Olds museum folks fueding with the Heritage Center.

When I saw it on the auction initially, it was listed as a 1995 car, not a 1985, but I figured it's a typo. So far as I know there was only one Darth Vader Olds and it was that particular 1985 442, the FE3-X. I don't have the money to bid on it, but I posted it here because so many of us are aware of that car and want it for ourselves. If it is sold, I hope it goes to someone who appreciates it for what it is, and not to someone who sees it as just another G body.

If the car is sold at Auction, I will do everything in my power to buy it. Dick Balsley was the first to contact me about the original Darth going up for auction. He wanted to make sure if someone bought it , it was me, since I have the other 1985 FE3X. I had always told him I wanted to buy the car if they ever would sell it, everytime I weent down to visit him at the Heritage center, and again this year when he gave me the keys to Darth to have for 3 hours to take pictures of the 2 cars together and drive it. Lots of fun thats for sure. Unfortunately with Dick now gone from GM , there went me in at the Heritage center. I have regiesterd to bid at BJ , just in case Darth goes up for auction and have gotten the blessing of my wife to buy the car. Nothing would be cooler than to have both cars in the garage parked next to each other. And it will NOT just be put away for no one ever to see again. I have told the Museum if for some reason it comes up for auction , I would put it on loan to the Museum to display. Wish me luck if I end up bidding on the car.

Good luck if does go to auction. It definitely sounds like you are the right person for the car

Do you have any idea around what price that car might go for?

I noticed yesterday that Barrett-Jackson's web site now has a picture of the car on the description for Lot 105 (still shows it as a 1995). Angelo, any more from the RE Olds museum folks about who actually owns the car? Best of luck to you if it indeed goes to Scottsdale.

Unless there were two of them made, that is definitely the car. There is no mistaking it with that header panel on it.

The picture posted is from 8 years ago at The Sterling Hts park lot of the Heritage center and before the car was repainted. In the pic you can stillsee the oldsmobile logo on the header, which isn't there now. I will be talking to Deb at the Museum on Tuesday to confirm if the car is or isn't there. As of today I am registered to bid on the car. Bjackson called me and let me know the car was still on for auction as of yesterday. We'll see what happens. I have a feeling the car is going and am preparing for it unless Deb tellsme otherwise. I will keep you guys informed.
