6.0 is a good engine just look out for lifter failure. they like to colapse and causes an annoying missfire. but i have allways loved those trucks. i work on lots of them, nothing to serious for the most part.

I worked for GMC never heard of the lifter problems, only really generalized problem that some v8's were running into were ring problems and even that seemed really random and not a widespread issue. Also rear main seals liked to leak on some of the v8's

yah we use top engine cleaner to try and clean out the rings plus and oil deflector in the pan and a new valve cover. it works 80% of the time. after that it is pistons and rings but that is on aluminum 5.3's only. the 6.0 chevy's have lifter problems but it might be 2500 only now that i think of it, but i have done guite a few sets. doesn't GMC normally use the 6.2 now? Ive also only heard of the rear main on the cast iron 5.3's.... not sure though.

thats a sweet deal dude we have used regular silverados go for as much as 17 grand at our dealer so urs is definately a deal

Sweet SS truck!! That's exactly what i am looking for for my next truck...
