I just purchased a 1975 Olds Rocket 350 and a 350 trans that I plan on putting in my 1987 GP. I am already aware that these motors are completely different from a chevy motor. does anyone happen to know if I am going to have to move the motor/transmission mounts and/or modify them? If so do any of you have any recomendations? thanks for the help.

Start by telling us what motor came in your 87 GP.

It came factory with a 305 and a th200 for the transmission

I am looking for the quickest, easiest way possible to get this car up and running. any info onthe mounts and any other advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks

This is specific to a Buick V6 to Olds V8 swap, but alot of the same info applies.

In short, you will need:

-accesory brackets
-specific G-Body Olds V8 motor mounts
-transmission with BOP pattern
-other modifications list in the site above[/url]

If it has a T200 transmission and you have a t350, measure them. If you have the short tailshaft, your t350 will go right where the 200 was.

Then you need a set of Olds V8 engine mounts. Any 78-88 g car like ours that had a 307 or diesel will work. Some of these cars had little 260 Olds engines and a few in 78-79 had an Olds 350. Anyway, there were lots of Olds powered cars made.

A quick search of your local junkyards should turn up a 307 powered car quickly...

After it's in, buy radiator hoses for a Cutlass 307 car.

Good luck!

thanks for all the help
