Congrats! We're coming up on year 6 of marriage (12 years total including common law).

If I'm still alive after 35 years of marriage, she's obviously watching all those crime shows for entertainment. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best....

27 going on 8 here. And the wife seems almost worryingly interested in those same shows too . . .

Just the other night, I got home from work, flopped into my favorite recliner, and asked my wife politely "Honey can you get me a beer before it starts, please?"
I downed it as quick as I could, and hollered to the kitchen "Honey can you get me a beer before it starts?"
Again, I downed it as quick as I could, and hollered to the kitchen "Honey can you get me a beer before it starts?"
Then she come pounding into the room with "Are your f%^&*(^ legs broke?!?! Get your own damned beer!"
That's when it started.......

Guys I have you all beat. It will be 57 years for my wife and I on July 15h. We met drag racing on the street back in 1958. The rest is history. Secret is to have a wife who likes cars and racing as much as you do. We still play with cars. She has a 12.3 second 1/4 mile 2007 TB SS. I Have a 1987 Buick GNX, 1987 Buick T-Type which is bone stock & a 1987 Buick T-Type with an LS3/480 plus HP and a whole bunch of other Muscle cars which are mainly G Body cars. In reality ALL our cars and every thing we own are ours. Not his nor hers. They are ours. The secret to a good marriage is to be TRUTHFUL with each other and not to screw around with other women. I was always fearful that if I screwed around with other women that my wife would turn me from a he to a she. So I never screwed around. I like what GOD gave me and I didn't want to lose it. Another thing is that we do not buy anything unless we can pay for it in cash. If we do not have the money, we do not buy it. If I need to buy something for our cars I always ask her if we have the money. If she asks me if I can wait until next month, I will do that. If she would like a new embroidery machine which costs over $7,000 dollars I tell her to get it if we have the money. Sometimes I even have to encourage her to get what she wants. She also does likewise. She has to tell me, well are you going to get that new tire changer & balancer that you want? When are you going to order it? Guys and Gals the reason that I am telling this is that this is what is working for us. When you wake up in the morning why not kiss her and tell her you love her? The same goes at night when you are going to bed. Kiss her and tell her you love her. Believe me when I say this, it goes a long ways. NEVER EVER go to bed Mad at each other. If you do that, you will be mad at each other when you wake up in the morning. Trust me, I am not trying to sound like a Dr. Phil. All I know this is what has worked for my wife and I for 57 years. You have to work together. I hope that some of you benefit of what has worked for my wife and I. Rich
