Got my Wicked-A** engine today

How did you get such high compression? I noticed it has 72 7a heads, even with those heads and flat top pistons would only get high 9 to 1. Your engine looks awesome and will fly, but without a ton of milling, your compression isn't that high.

Congrats on you new engine! Very cool. My Cutty ran some 12.50s but fortunately because of being 509ci it would run on 89 octane. Curious do you know what the drag car weighed and what mph it ran? Another option/solution for the fuel is to mix it with Xylene that you can get at any paint store or chemical company. I used to add a 5 gallon can at the Sunoco station and top it off with their 94 octane for a 100 octane mix. (When I wanted to turn up the boost with my GN prior to haveing the Methanol/water injection) Xylene is 117 octane but can only be used to about a 33% mix with gas. I throw it out their because its cost effective compared to race fuel and is sometimes available when you cannot get race fuel or avgas from an airfield. Avgas would be the least desireable of the three. Also you should add a few ounces of Marvels Mystry Oil available at any autoparts every time you add the Xylene as it does not have lead or other lubricants that they put it gasoline.

The flat top forged pistons are from speed pro, they're designed for a 350 with 62.5 cc heads that makes a 10:49.1 compression. The #7 heads are shaved to 59 cc chambers and the block is decked 0 making an 11.77 compression.I have a parts list of all the internals in this 350.It also has 1.6 magnum full roller rockers and high energy pushrods from comp. cams.I have to find out what percentage 110 and 93 he put in it,of course he only drove it to the strip and back,i plan on driving it every once and a while, especially now since of such an engine.According to the seller,i could be able to run 104+ octane booster (black bottle stuff) and 93 and be alright,if not wot too much,or i can go 2 miles out of town to a local speed shop and get 110 octane for $4 a gallon!I also think i'd be ok just using 93 and just cruising.Dogshit-I think it was around 3300 at the most,it had a cowl induction hood, stock wheel wells, gutted interior and ran slicks,i dont know of the speed either. Thanks for the "alternative fuels",I will definitely look into those items in the near future, with $4 a gallon 110 and $2.50 a gallon,i may need something cheaper, even though this wont be driven everyday.

Cool, milling and 0 deck will bump it up high. Being an Olds v8, you will have trouble keeping tires on it. My crappy 403 just roasts the tires. Your car will be fast, you will need suspension upgrades to handle all that power at the track. You might sh*t yourself the first time you floor it 😀 .

I am preparing for wheel spin even with the 2.56 granny gears, its an open rear and currently sitting in the garage it has a pair of bald studded snow tires so that when it comes out the garage,it'll be pure smoke show! 8) Thanks for the comments everyone,i'll have to make a couple videos on it running and in action when its all finished....and next on the list a GN posi rear and new tires
