Looking for some info .I read somewhere that the grand marquis or crown Vic transmission crossnember can be made to fit a g body does anyone know what year crown Vic I should be looking to get one of these crossnembers from ?

Early 2000's crossmember. They changed somewhere around 2003 or 2004. So you need the one before the change. Will need to have the ends cut off. I welded a piece of angle iron to one end. Very simple & works great!

In 2003 Ford completely redesigned the chassis for their Panther platform. With the 2003 up Panthers, the trans crossmembers are a press tight fit into the main chassis between the rails. The mounting design is completely different from G bodies. The Panther crossmembers are also electrically isolated from ground to prevent frying transmission electronics.

Stock double hump transmission crossmember from an '84-'02 Crown Vic, '92-'02 Grand Marquis, or from a '90-'01 Lincoln Town Car. They're merely ≈3.5" too long overall- cut the ends off, flatten 'em, and drill holes and they fit our cars perfectly, even the trans mount (IIRC). Then you can run true dual exhaust.

Here's a pic from under a Grand Marquis, borrowed from fordforums.com:
