Using that name is a bit of a round ball/square hole situation. It doesn't fit the bill. It's way too classy and looks like it should be chasing BMW taillights. The car seems more "AMG" than "GNX." More "Euro" than "retro." Way more Nurburgring than NASCAR.
Don't get me wrong. I'm all for that. But it's like taking a sirloin steak and calling it meatloaf. They're totally different meals.
I don't know. Neat idea but it's just weird. It seems off to me. I don't know what to think. This comment went through like 3 revisions and each one was a paragraph long.
I might come to like them for what they are though. Just like the Australian GTOs.

Why should the car have to look old and in the 80s fuel injection, turbo, intercooler, digital dash and touch climate control was james bond sh*t

Menh....I'd rather have a real GN....sorry, can't say this is or ever will be a GN or GNX to me...nice try Government Motors, try again....

x2 - for the amount of money you'd probably spend on this, you could buy a nice M-series Bimmer....sorry, not for me, I'll stick with my g-body regal

Don't even get me started on those damn Australian GTOs. I hate 'em! i guess because i got started in 60s pontiacs. I learned everything I know working on GTOs, grand prixs, and bonnevilles.

That's a good point. I'm mean I'm liking the overall concept of this car, especially the GNX version. I'm just surprised they're not using the GS and GSX badges.
To be honest, I really wanna see this thing on Top Gear and see what Clarkson, May, and Hammond have to say about it.

I didn't like them at first because they looked so plain-jane. But then it hit me that name-plate aside, it's a mid-size-ish RWD coupe with a 6.0 LS and a 6-speed manual. That's a band wagon I wouldn't mind jumping on if it's in my price range. 😛

I think that the T-Type and Grand National could be cool if they were offered in a two door version. As far as the GNX I really like the concept but feel the GSX would be a more appropriate name for a V8 application.

🙁

Sorry man, didnt mean to insult you, but 60s Pontiac is where I learned everything automotive, from changing oil to hating mopar. I just hated to see GM take some Australian thing, slap a badge on it, and try to pass it off as the real deal.

Oh, the car in itself is great. Who wouldn't love a car that's rwd, 6 speed, and has an ls? But the way they marketed it, and the styling, the fact it's made in Australia, not Detroit, was enough to spoil it for me. Esspecially since I'm so sentimentally attached to early gtos.

LOL X 3!

I'd love to see what those three would have to say about it!
