Hey folks, I don't think I've been on here in years but it seems like the best place to ask: I'm looking for the dash harness for an 81-86 Grand Prix. No radio or HVAC, just the instrument and idiot light section.

In fact, if anyone has just the connectors or can point me in the right direction that would also be fine. I'm adapting a Grand Prix dash to a Monte Carlo. Shipping to 78758. Thanks!

I installed my GP dash years back using the original Malibu harness and using the Pontiac wiring connectors, plus re-pinning them to be compatible. You'll find that most if not all G-body wiring uses the same color code. Do you have a wiring diagram? I found it very helpful.

Might have them as I cut up a Pontiac harness a couple years back. How many cavaties on each?

Thanks for the reply. I have wiring diagrams for both cars, re-pinning the GP connectors seems like the easiest way to go but unfortunately none came with this dash so the question is where to get some.

It would be rad if you did! Just taking a glance here, looks like the connector behind the gages should have 14 cavities and the one closer to the middle should have 10 but not all of them are used.

I have a 10 and an 18. Pretty sure the 10 is from the Pontiac dash harness, the 18 is most likely a Chevrolet.

Anyone happen to know if any other GM vehicles used these plugs so I can check the salvage yards for a match?

I have a entire eng bay / interior dash harness with fusebox from a 78 car. There's not much that changed up to 81. Mainly what i noticed is the under-dash Couresty light harness. No cuts on it. I'd let it go for $125. I'm in MI Prefer cashier check or Paypal.

From a 78 GP? If the plugs on the dash end are the same dimensions as a later GP then I think I could make that work. Would you mind sending some photos?

No from a 78 LeMans. There is no difference between the two. Pontiac division tmk. Used the same plugs and connectors until about 81-82ish.
