I've been working on this basket case 1983 Caballero for about a year. I call it a basket care because someone took everything off the motor (I mean everything) and lost interest. My son picked it up for me because I've always wanted a el camino. I've been putting it back together . I'm close to finishing but stuck on the vaccume lines .
I've attached 2 pictures
My questions
Does that look like the same canister control valve as shown is my book.
If yes. I am confused about where it said the canister hose attaches. Because in my diagram the canister doesn't go directly to the control valve.
Any help would be great

I don't think my pictures went thru

Same valve. Cannister goes through a thermal vacuum switch so the system does not operate when the engine is cold then to the cannister control valve.

Ok. Thats what I thought. Thank you..
One more question. I can't figure out where the control valve goes. It seems that it just going to lay.on top . Does it attach to anything ? I don't see any brackets or anything.?

IIRC it just sits there in the driver front corner under the hood
