Welcome to the forum. Very nice 1986 Salón! It looks highly optioned. I like the fact you’re going to keep it stock appearing inside and out. GM got it right the first time

I hope you're joking... It's his car, let him do what he wants with it. I think it's pretty awesome what he's planning to do. Going to be a hell of a lot more fun with a stick shift and with the lame *ss 307 pulled out in favor of a built 350 or 383 or whatever SBC he's putting in instead.
It's funny that you mention that. The salvage title says 87 but the retired dealer that I bought it from said it had the front and rear painted. I have been so busy that I haven't taken the time to compare the grilles and learn about the cosmetic changes through the years. I really like the 'Euro' style headlites but not enough to spend $ to change. Are you sure the title says 1987? It looks like a 1986 to me with 1984 grills.
You guys have good eyes. This car looks better at 50' than up close. I have had nice cars that I wouldn't drive for fear of door dings or getting dirty, etc. I want this to be 'presentable' but not to spend a fortune on exterior and then not use it.Nice car. Looking at the mis-alignment of the drivers door, looks to need hinge repair. I’ve always hated those rivet on b/s mouldings. That’s going to be a fun cruiser.
