I am the proud owner of a 1983 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ. I bought it in 1994 as the 2nd car I had ever owned. It started out with a 305, then I bought a 350 crate motor, and now it has a 350 TBI from a 1993 Z71 in it.

The good news: 4th engine has about 10 miles on it. The bad news: it was put in about 7 years ago. The transmission is fried and I have not had the money to get that fixed. So now I am working on getting the engine to run. The 7 year old then-new pump isn't getting fuel to the engine. It will run when I put fuel in the throttle body, but it doesn't fuel itself. Gotta figure that out.

I tested the lights. I have tail lights, but no brake lights. Blinkers work now that I changed the flasher unit, but it appears my dash light bulbs for the blinker are out. My headlights worked on dim, but none work when bright. Now they don't work at all. Oh the trials and tribulations with owning & working on a project car.

Here is what she looks like. Please don't judge...I washed it after the pic was taken:

Welcome to the site. A good wash and cleanup always made me feel better if my car was having issues. When it is shiny you do not think of all the repairs you have to do!

Plenty of help and info on here. Just ask if you have any questions and you will find solutions or be sent into the right direction to get the car rolling again someday.

Welcome aboard!
We hope you're able to make continued progress. Good luck!

A good wash and clean will certainly give you a positive perspective.

Greetings from dirty Jersey she doesn't look so bad soap and water dose wonders. And if you can't make it run there's lots of good advice here

welcome and nice car, it's a GP so the only ones who judge it are jealous...🙂

for the no brake light issue check to make sure the switch at the brake pedal has power...

Welcome to the site!

Thank you for the warm welcomes. The brake lights are now fixed (stuck switch just as pontiacgp mentioned). Now the headlights are the only lights not working. That may be in the high beam switch in the steering column. The dims worked the first time I pulled the switch. When I clicked the high beam switch...they were ALL out! They haven't come on since. Test light shows no power coming to the bulbs.
