Back In The Day My Cutlass Had A 355, And On The Driver's Side I Had To Take My Motor Mount Bolt Out, Jacked It Up A Bit, And The Header Slid Right In, Header Resting On What I Recall To Be The A Arm, Drove It Nice,And A Few Miles Later The Header Clearenced Itself, Just A Little Dimple,And Slid The Bolt Back In! Good Luck Man!!

The Hooker 2451's are a universal fit header. They also fit A-bodies, and First-Second Gen F-bodies. Hooker makes a specific header for G-bodies, but also says these headers fit in G-bodies. I would love for them to look at my headers and what we had to do to get them to fit, and then tell me they fit with no issues.

well bud i have a 84 regal and i also have a set of hooker headers and i didnt have a problem at all r u using short or long headers

Cheap quality mass produced headers are always MUCH more prone to have fitment issues. Welcome to the world of headers. This is why I run manifolds.

I have a 1981 Pontiac Lemans 2 door with a 400 SBC, I bought hedmans from Summit, driver side fit perfect the pass side I had taken it in and out a keep trimming a little of the A-Arm & A-Arm bracket & no way was it going in, called summit they sent another set that were alot better but still had to trim a little more off of arm & bracket not enough to hurt anything but was a pain in the wazoo, I also sripped them sanded them completely with 40 & 80 grit & sprayed them with ceramic coating in the buzz can from autlzone and it is holding up ! very surprized not peeling or rusting I guess it works
Good Luck all

take a look at jegs headers part number 555-30060

Those headers are priced right up my alley at this time.

A fellow over at malibu racing mention to me about Schonfelds. They require me to use a short oil filter and no AC. Not a problem concerning the AC as I have a delete plate on, but not interested in the short oil filter requirement.

84 Cutlass, on those jegs headers, you have any experience with them on a 86 regal? I know our cars are similar. 🙂
not really i seen that they said they would fit a regal with sbc so check into it a little more i just seen them in a jegs mag and put in the part number for u let me know which way u went

2451's are the longtube headers

Time for an update.

I managed to identify the Header with a bit of carb cleaner and a wire brush.

Its a Heddman Hedder. 68310

I know for sure the first 3 numbers are 683, kind of guessed of the last two since it wasnt really legible.

Checked the website and confirmed through pictures that it is indeed the same header.

Those headers fit my car with a simple install. Hope this may help anyone who runs into same problem.
