Late response but I just installed a set of long tube flowtechs in my 85 cutlass 350sbc. Remove the oil dipstick and starter, spark plugs can stay. Starter will be a pita putting back in. Driver side, I removed oil and filter, booster, steering shaft and pulled the column out a bit and removed spark plugs. Lifted engine a bit from that side without removing mount header fell right in. It takes some work but they fit without any clearance issues
