I think the Eastwood stuff is like an ugly dirty looking silver. Unless you have your headers coated, painting your headers is a job you have to repeat from time to time. Personally, I don't like Eastwood anything. They're grabbers.

they also have a flat black but i guess ill just save up and have them coated. thanks

I have used the Eastwood stainless steel paint. It does dry kinda gray looking. I've wanted to try it on my headers, but have used it on my old Porsche heat exchangers. It worked great and is super durable. It cures when it's used on a running engine.
I would use it on my old painted headers. Still alot cheaper than ceramic coating them. I'm sure they're not as nice looking, but still more durable than using VHT, or any other high heat paint in a rattlecan.
I think for the best results, you'd have to blast them first.

vht high temp paint, I took mine all the way to the metal, primed and did two coats of silver, The motors been in for a year now and I drive it about 3 times a week for a total of atleast 1 hour at a time, and has lasted way better than that shitty paint they paint them at the factory actually, they haven't even started to lose any paint and honestly they won't. VHT is a better paint anyways (out of the high temp paints from a can) You can buy it at autozone, and you don't even have to strip the paint of your headers, I did just cause I was bored.

I wouldn't spend too much coating them unless it's for show. I painted mine with vht high temp too and I liked the results as well. Headers rot out from the inside as well so unless you coat them on the inside as well as the outside it may not be worth the money to you

Anyone ever have good luck with that exhaust wrap? I like the look of it not sure if it will help performance like the package says but if it last longer than paint and may save a plug boot I may try it

we use the exhaust wrap on the race car...I got lazy with my car but will do mine this winter...the wrap keeps the heat in the pipes so the exhaust flows faster....cooling exhaust gases expand

ive heard that the wrap makes headers rust and i think it looks kinda shitty but i wasnt even thinking of ceramic coating i was leaning more towards powder coating

powder coating won't take the high temps....the plastic will melt. If you're going to wrap headers it's a good idea to paint them with hi temp paint and cure the paint before you wrap them. Plus I don't expect headers to last forever so when they rust out I change them
