hello all, im new to the site. Just bought an 88 SS off a friend of mine and all the emissions equipments gone. I have a question about the smog tubes coming off the exhaust manifolds. I have tried removing a few and just end up snapping the bolts and tried to crimp them off, and they still leak. I'd like to get headers for the car, but i don't want to replace the Y-pipe as its still good and i don't want to purchase long tubes as i am going to be doing an LS swap in a year or so. So is there any headers that will bolt to the factory Y-pipe?

just go out and find a set of old SBC exhaust manifolds

I think since he's only running this set up till he drops another engine in Ritter probably has the best solution...another set of older stock manifolds...

wait a sec.....if the only reason he wants to change the manifolds is cause the air tubes leak then why not get those tubes braze welded closed....they can be welded closed in place and probably with little cost....and from my personal experience those exhaust maifold bolts can be a b!tch to remove and they have a tendency to break....
