I've read a couple of posts about clearance problems with headers on a el camino. I am going to a 350 and unsure about the need for headers or not. Are there any stainless performance exhausts other than headers? If not, what type of headers will fit a 350 in g body without clearance problems? I want stainless or ceramic coated?
Thanks

yeah I need some advise on this too for my regal with a 350ci sbc. What kinda headers do you all use?

I went with Dyno=Max ceramic coated off of Ebay for my 78 Monte with a 350. It was a tight fit, but I installed them as I was lowering the 350 into place.

flowtec afterburners. after break-in i sent them out to get ceramic coated by jet-hot. they can go in from the top but it's MUCH easier to do the P/S from beneath. not too bad though, as long as the front is WAY up in the air.

so Im looking at probally over 350$ then right for the flortechs?

$350 sounds about right if you get them "factory" coated. i had originally gotten the ceramic coated flowtecs and didn't like the coating quality or the fact that it was the outside only. that's why i got the regular ones and sent them out. (that and break in destroys the coating 😢 ) jet hot http://www.jet-hot.com/ might carry the ones you're looking for, which would keep the price down a bit.

Bigdan, Here is the listing off of Summit catalog:

Mine I bought new in box from Ebay for around $200. The driver side went in easy, the passenger side was a PIA. I needed to grind down the clamp bolt on the steering shaft though. The nut side would hit against one of the primary tubes on driver side. Here are a couple pics on driver side. The second is more of how I had to notch out the AC bracket.
