Hey guys, has anyone ever used an aftermarket headliner board made from ABS plastic? I am thinking about ordering one for my 81 Malibu.
- I was just wondering how the fit & finish was on these.
- If you have any experience with these please comment thanks.

Heres a link for the headliner

I installed an ABS headliner in my '84 Monte several years ago. I had no problems with the fit, and it was much easier to work with, and no worries about breakage. The company that I purchased it from, here in Ontario, will recover the ABS backing board with material that matches the original as closely as possible if you send them a sample. When I picked up the new headliner, the supplier actually had it rolled up in a box-its that flexible. Hope this helps.

I had one on my Monte and it fit perfect.

After calling the supplier and being assured the ABS substrate would fit my 86' Olds I pulled the trigger and bought one. The first thing I noticed was how freaking HEAVY it was. The second problem was that the map lamp hole was in the wrong spot. The guy I bought it from was supposed to be a g body expert. I paid for return shipping and repaired the nice factory foam board using thin, high density cardboard with hotmelt glue. GM still uses foam to this day for a reason. It is light weight and dimensionally stable at high temps. A thick and heavy ABS substrate is likely to warp.
