425 is the same block as a 455...different cranks...."A" heads are a good substitute for 455 heads...according to this article....

The early 425's ( and 330's ) had a different cam bank angle than the later engines, so they're heads are not a 'bolt on and go' option for anything other than the engines they came off of. So if you wanted to use 425 heads on a later engine, you need to have the pushrod holes worked over.
