my heater box is leaking, is it a easy fix or should i take it to a shop?

im not to good, i wanna rip it out but i stay in ohio so i need heat in the winter.......but is it as easy fix

the only problem about ripping it out is you can't rip it back in!!! :lol: buy a book and read it to get a better idea of what you need to do, as a last resort take it to a mechanic and pay to get it done right, before it gets to cold....

Is the heater box leaking rain water, or is the heater core leaking engine coolant? There is a HUGE difference in the solution depending on he answer to this question!

If its coolant that should be an easy fix. Dont take it some where. I forget the exact procedure to change the heater core, but I think its not to bad.
