Ok soo i got it out, the core was leaking for "sure". I think i am going to polish the trim piece while i have it out, the one that goes on the windshield, could i just use stainless steel polish?. Anyways where do i get that 3m tape, will autozone have it? or do i have to order it, I am going to swing by autozone when i wake up, ill get it if i see it, Thanks again guys!!!!

Is Their a drain plug for our radiators, or do i just disconnect the lower rad hose. I might as well flush it while i am at it, I don't plan to get the new radiator for at least a couple of months, as I am going to do my brakes first.

Don't use RTV to seal it back up. Someone did that on mine and it was almost impossible to remove it. That strip stuff black showed looks like a good recommendation.

Radiator has a drain plug at the bottom driverside corner. I always have to take the screws out of the fan shroud and shift it over to get to it with my fingers.

Silicone won't leave you unable to open it back up again and it works well.

You might try Nev-R-Dull on your trim piece. It leaves a film you'll have to rub off with a rag but it works fairly well on lightly corroded and tarnished chrome parts.

definately NO RTV, I had to pull mine apart and well the housing came out ... in like 26 pieces that is. Looks like someone used 3 or 4 tubes worth of RTV on the car .... I could've choked someone.

I think he means the cowl piece ... that is stainless, but yeah I think Nev-R-Dull still works there.

That's what happened to me, too. Luckily they are pretty easy to find at junkyards if they do break, though. Of course, you are almost as likely to crack the one at the junkyard, too.

ok guys, so i changed the heater core, car is running as cool as a cat, but now i have two problems, as i was expecting problems, as always.

One, i have a very choppy idle, at a stand still the car shakes but responds well, its like im not firing on one cylinder, but there new wires, and i changed the plugs, i even bought new ones, and checked them all, and replaced some just for the hell of it, as there was some heat build up on some of them.

The second problem, is my blower fan is not going on in the third and forth speed of the fan. It works great on one and two, but when i put it to three or four, it dies. I am thinking that i might have damaged the blower fan. I don't usually use three of four, but i would like to have it.

I tried cleaning the crab, but no go. this is my first carb car, so i am learning, but i do not know how to adjust it. Its a qjet 307 carb.

I think that its a fuel and air mix problem, but i do not know what screw to screw. I tried looking it up online, and in my helms, but I just cant find it.
