This past winter, my blower fan stopped blowing as hard as it used to. My heater core went this winter, and I'm not sure if it happened when that happened or not, but I realized the problem about a month later. Would it be a fan speed resistor problem, or could a new fan do it, or something else? And would there be such thing as a high output (or at least a bit better) fan? These -40 winters suck if the windows just fog up when it snows.

First things first, clean up the ground for the blower motor and see if that makes a difference.
I've had to do that on just about every g-body I've owned...

If cleaning the ground works for you then cool..but eventually you will end up replacing it ..i'm just at a point where I'd rather replace it and not deal with having to clean/replace it for the next 20 years..but you're talking to someone who burns and pisses $20 before 10am...

If you do replace the blower the 2 piece one with the metal fan definately blows more air & you need to use that black rubber caulking stuff that comes on a roll, orielly's has both the 2 piece blower and the caulking there is name it is not strip caulk but very similar it is cheap too
Good luck

eventually almost everything wears out but why replace something that is still functioning?

My fan died 2 winters ago and I bought a new one. It now blows harder than any g I've owned or been in (all others had original). So maybe they lose their power over time?

If you buy a new one, you will find there will be two that seem the same. Except one will be priced about 3 times higher. That is because it comes with the fan bladed (if that's what they're called). Just buy the cheaper one and swap your existing fan to the new motor. Oh and you want the 'blower motor' not the blower fan. Hope I save you some of the confusion I went through lol.
