Hello....454 bbc in to a 79 Malibu

Hello there, I just pick up a 79 Malibu all original w/ a 267 4.4 liter and a th350 Trans. I would like to put a 454 in it and need some advice on what I will be needing to make the swap. Thanks Rick

So if you where to chose what engine would be better for a daily driver a SB 400 turned in to a 383 or the 454. I have a chance to do ether one but the 400 will be a bit cheaper? Any help would be great. Thanks again for the help.

For a daily driver a 400/383 would get better gas milage. You could use those savings to spin around the block one or two more times.
the big block has way more potential. Its slightly heavier. 13mpg average.

Both are more than acceptable for a daily driver though

For a daily driver, I'd leave it as is.

My '79 Malibu with a 267/TH350 got a consistant 20 mpg.
