well im from texas, got stationed in cali, and deployed to Afghanistan, thankfully the tour is just about over.

Once i get back from this tour and my separation from the Navy is done i will be doing a full restoration/upgrades to my Grandpas '84 El Camino to include (LS Swap, O/D Auto trans, and full body off restoration) hopefully i can pick up some good insight from yal so i can get the ball rollin and get it done in a reasonable amount of time.

Previous vehicles have be a
'83 CJ7 body off restoration -Sold about 1 year after completion
'97 F150 bagged, fully shaved, custom sheet metal bed, smoothed and painted interior - Sold 7 months after completion
'07 Ranger Full Roll Cage, Long travel suspension, gutted (it was supposed to be a daily driver pre runner, snow ball affect)-sold it incomplete before my deployment

Going to build up the El Camino for a capable/comfortable driver that hopefully has about 350Hp/Tq and gets between 18-26Mpg and keep it for a long time since it will hold a sentimental value

We cant thank you enough for what you are doing for your country. Please be safe. You also must send pictures when you do return and tell us more about your project.

Eric,

Thanks for all the work that you do oversees to protect our freedom.

My dad has been over in Baghram (not sure of spelling) and KAF for the past year now doing work for one of the army units over there (hes retired from 26 years in Army). He tells me all about it and sends pics from there when he can. I couldnt imagine being over there that long but I appreciate the work he does and everyone else who is over there.
My brother who is in the Coast Guard is hoping to get stationed in (I believe) Iraq for a year to patrol navy ports over there.
Get home safe and enjoy your toys when you get back.

thanks guys, ill be home soon enough and back to my comfort zone (the garage).
It has been some experience for me so far, that is for sure.

Thanks man for what you do, and back to your car, you want 350 tq with an ls motor, well that will be easy to get, those ls motors are crazy of what kind of power you can get out of them. I think stock they are around 350 tq, or close to it and with headers and cam you will be making more then 350 tq and still getting good mpg

Hey thank you! Respect to all service members.

Sounds like you've done some nice projects before, good luck with that Elco from what I've seen they can be pretty sick, good luck!

If your interested in any composite custom you should contact me, i do Fiberglass/ carbonfiber work.
