Hey guys, just joined the forum from Miami, FL.
I just bought a 1986 grand national clone (its a regal) with a 383 in it. It was pretty clean (couple of rust bubbles but nothing noticeable) and I got a great price.
New to g bodies, New to general motors, and new to carbureted engines. I used to have an 03 mustang gt with bolt-ons thats it. I need to start learning about the car I'm driving and figured this forum could help me get my car IQ up.
Here is a complete list of the mods that the previous owner had (have receipts).
383 Stroker SBC, Comp Cam, L98 Aluminum Heads, Roller rockers, Edelbrock RPM Air gap intake, Holley 750 Carb, and MSD ignition. 700r4 transmission just built to handle up to 550hp ($2000, Have Reciept of rebuild) B&M rachet shifter, and new rear end with 3:73 gears replaced about 3 years ago. Hooker headers and full flowmaster exhaust. Good brakes, wheels were bought 3 years ago ($1000 have receipt). Great tread on tires.
Has a head up display, bmw seats on it, 2 amps with 2 12's subs and a touch screen display.
The owner told me that it should have 350-400hp. He used it as a daily driver I plan on doing the same. Do you think his prediction is correct about the hp? I would like to be able to reach mid-high 12's in the 1/4. Do you think I can (or should) on this setup?
Thanks, here are some pics
