I am the fortunate[?] default owner of an 1983 Malibu 231v-6 wagon. Bone stock, underpowered, faded silver on top with a purplish red below and a dark red interior. It was probably a nice car before it was built but it is the only ride I have at the moment so I have to be nice or it will wear out my Reeboks again. If or when I hit the small Lottery It will get a good big-block, cage and and Four Link rear. All mounted in rubber to make it streetable Then my son could drive it to the track. He is seventeen and got the drag racing bug after he spent last summer with his uncle who has a 11 second S-10 that he races in SLC, Utah and Vegas
If I was to hit the big one I would graft coupe A-pillars, B-pillars, rockers and roof onto my wagonit to make it a real two-door. Then ideally I'd like to find a demolished grand national to replace the engine and trans but since I am not a fan of quarter mile standing start time trials myself I'd like to do an IRS maybe from the G6 or Corvette. I know the Jaguar is the less expensive and easier IRS but I'd rather stay with the General.
