Hey Guys,

New to this site, I have a 1978 Monte Carlo. I was driving it home one evening and all the power shut off, lights and everything, I didn't want to shut the car off until I got home, once I parked it I shut it off and it hasn't started since, It felt to me like something was or came unplugged, I had recently swapped interiors prior. I found this plug with 2 larger wires in it, and a striking look like plug. I decided to put power to it and see what happened and it will crank the car but will not start it, I understand what the plug does but I cannot seem to find where it plugs in. I will take some pictures tomorrow evening and attach but maybe someone has came across this problem.

:blam: :blam:

there are two fusible links on the wires installed on the starter. I would check to see if you have power on each side of the fusible links

These 2 plugs are what I think is stopping car from starting. The one with 2 wires if I give it power she cranks

The Purple wire runs to the Starter, it has a fuseable link, power goes from the battery to the Starter to the fuse Panel to ignition. if that wire is melted or the link broken you will have no acc power 😉 ask me how I know lol

Agreed with everyone else its a fuseible link. I drove my Bu home from work one night and i didnt know it but there was an open wire tapping the valve cover then finally welded to it and then i just lost all power to everything and it left me stranded on the side of the road. It blew that link

a purple wire does go to the starter by it's a smaller gauge than the wire in the picture...

I don't know why people ask for suggestions and then just ignore them.... :wtf:
