Can someone give me an idea of how rare...if at all, the Cutlass with the stainless roof band is?

One has popped up for sale locally here and the asking price is reasonable. I've liked the body style for a while now and am considering it.

Looks alright (only pics I have) and appears to be a bucket.console car.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I like the color. What shape is it in rust wise?
I think it's been quite a while since I've seen a Cutlass with the stainless roof band, however I wouldn't know how rare it is, if at all.

I haven't seen the car in person yet Jack...actually just heard about it today.

The stainless roof band is code Y68 and available on the 1980 model year only. I've read that there were about 6000 cars with it.

If the car is as solid as it looks in the pics I think it's probably worth the asking price.

Definitely a nice score. You must check for rust. Could be a costly, time consuming repair. Try to hide the fact your doing high fives in your head when you look it over. Lol
