help with 17x8 tires size

Hi everyone,
new guy so sorry if this was asked before.
I just brought a set of 17x17x8 5-4.75 4.5 bs
my question is what size tires can I safely go with? I do plan on a slight drop but still unsure yet. Any and all help I would appreciate greatly. And please understand I am new to posting on a web site let alone being on the web.
because in my day we walked 7 miles to school with news paper in our shoes..............

i have a 17x8 cragar soft 8 on the front with a 245/45/17 falken AZENIS RT615K have not put it on my car as it is still in frame off phase but check this out and it can answer the other issues https://gbodyforum.com/threads/good-spring-and-shock-combo-with-17inch-wheels.55325/

Could I run
245/45r17 in front with 17x8 4.5 bs
255/50r17 in rear with 17x8 4.5 bs
and be ok? I wanted to order tires tomorrow online since I found them for 475 shipped

I run 245/40/18 with 4.5 bs 18x8.5 in the front and just lowered it (springs) 2 inches with no problems.
My rears are 275/40/18 4.5 bs 18x8.5 with stock set up and have no issues. So I would think you will be fine.
This on an 87 SS.

I,m running a set of BF Goodrich g Force Sport COMP-2 front & rear, on a set of 17x8 BOSS 338 chrome rims. My car also has Detroit Speed adjustable coil overs front and rear, & is lowered 2 1/4 inches. Everything works well and has a nice smooth ride.
