i have a 86 el Camino with a 86 corvette MAF 350 L98 tune port swap (PO did swap). My issue is since this is a swap there is no Evap canister. I have the middle port (passenger side) on the throttle body that pulls vacuum hard and it's supposed to go to the Evap. If I plug it when it warms up I get idle surge and eventually it just shuts off. If I leave it off it runs and drives, but lacks power.

My question is, what do I do with this port on the throttle body? I've looked all over and can't find the answer. Someone please help. Here's a picture of the throttle body port

That port is capped off on mine. I have an '89 TPI from a Vette in my 442, harness from Afordable Fuel Injection with all emissions turned off.

Is yours MAF? Do you have a lot of vacuum pulling from that port you have blocked up? When I try to cap it, it will eventually stall out.

Put it on the scanner get it into closed loop and check yer ST fuel trim with it plugged and un plugged.

I thought ya may have had a scanner or laptop to plug er in. Remove the Idle air control and make sure the pintle is full of carbon. Also check the housing of the IAC.

Nope I kind of acquired it this way from an older man who was very sick. I've been told 2 different things. Guys with f bodies tell me to run the 2nd port on the throttle body to the pass side valve cover for the Pcv system, then I've been told by several to plug it.. It has a new IAC, TPS, and a 58mm throttle body. All where set properly. I'm just at a lost. New to TPI and I'm just losing my mind

A while back a good friend of mine has this problem and he ran a rubber line to a plastic water bottle. It imitated the evap canister that's supposed to be there perfectly. It sounds stupid but it worked. All the symptoms you're describing stopped after that. Better than plugging it and stalling all the time..
