Do u have o2 sensors in the exhaust? It is more difficult to diagnose without having it hooked to a scanner to watch the data stream. The vac line being disconnected from the evap canister isn't the problem. It has to be blocked off. If u have a service engine light hooked in the system ya can try and flash the codes. That will kinda give ya a starting point. Try another MAF sensor if ya have one available, if not try cleaning the old one.
