haha there were only 3 200r-4s made in 84 and I have a th350 thanks though
I first thought it was a th-350 as that's what was in my car when I bought it.....BUt the O/D switch threw me for a loop...either way, glad you figured it out 🙂

They have chevy bolt pattern 200-4r's and buick, olds, pontiac bolt pattern ones.

Is is an overdrive switch or a lock up converter?. My '83 Cutlass had a th350 with lock up converter behind its 307.

Overdrive and lock-up are two different functions. They are commonly misconstrued. Torque converter can lock-up in 2, 3, and overdrive depending on how the switch is wired in. The TCC (Torque Converter Control) Solenoid is what will control your lock-up. Overdrive if the transmission has overdrive (example. THM350 & THM400 are 3spd trans without overdrive, but can have lock-up converter. THM700r-4 & THM200-4r are overdrive transmissions that can have lock-up converters)

If it's the orig trans for the the car then it's the 350c trans ( 3 speed with a lockup that was equipped on the 84ss ). Toggle switch is likely to control the lockup if the 'puter was pulled.
