So i replaced the water pump on my Regal with an Olds 307, but the studs that hold in the pulley fan and clutch were stuck in the old one! I managed to remove them by overtightening to gain leverage.

That may have been a stupid thing to do because now the bolts are stuck to the stud. i used vice grips, clamps, torch, everything i could but they will. not. budge. Im going to take them to a machine shop tomorrow if all else fails...

...unless somebody has a better idea? Looked up the studs on Rock Auto, and had my buddy who works as a parts dealer at Autopart International look for them...nothing. Anybody know where to get replacement studs and bolts for a 307 water pump? Or something I can use as an alternative?

For the record, I live in Boston and there are no BOP parts to be found in Junkyards anywhere in New England....that I know of..

I would be willing to bet that those are the same thread size as a small block chevy water pump. If you're not using a factory fan and went electric you could probably just get some ARP bolts for a SBC and let her ride.

Put 2 nuts on one side and tighten them together. Hold the one closest to the old nut with a wrench and use a wrench or socket on the one you want to remove.

Check the HELP section or the performance section at the local Pepboys. Both areas should have replacement studs. They are not gonna be listed in a catalog, but check the applications on the package. After a quick look at the dorman web site try to match up to the following part numbers 23733, 23735, 23737, or 23743. One of these should have the correct size for you.
