i came up on a radiator and trans cooler...does anyone kno how to hook the trans cooler up ?

I just mounted mine to the front of my rad. You should have cooler hard lines coming from your trans. There are two ways to route this...

#1. Take the OUT line from your trans and install it to the trans cooler lines on your rad. Then take other port from your rad, and route that to the Trans cooler. Then take the open port from your Trans cooler, and route it back to your IN line from your trans. This way, you'll have trans fluid cooled by both the rad and cooler.

#2. Route the trans lines directly to the cooler, seperate from the rad. Take the OUT line from the trans and plug it to your cooler. Then another line from the cooler back to the IN line on your trans.

Some people say that routing it thru your rad is better, some say seperate is better. If you have a good set of electric fans, the seperate system is fine. If your fan can't pull much more than the heat from your rad, then routing it thru the rad will allow double cooling and extra insurance.

Don't use any ordinary hose... You can buy 3/8" or large fuel line hose. This stuff is thicker and meant for higher pressure lines. This hose should come with the cooler you bought. Or, you can also use steel line with fittings.

I mounted mine using plastic zip ties that were supplied with the cooler kit I bought. They are special ties that are heat resistant. If this doesn't work for you, you can also make some simple brackets out of flat stock steel and bolt the cooler to a rigid frame.

hope this helps...
sorry I don't have pictures...

What I did (and what a lot of people do) is ran my trans cooler in line with my radiator. What you do is have the fluid coming out of the trans go into the radiator trans cooler first like normal, then have it go out the radiator into the external trans cooler and then from the external trans cooler back to the trans. Really not that hard just have to figure out how you want to run the lines from the radiator to the cooler.

one more thing...

I highly recommend the new style of oil coolers, that have passages build into the fins.

this is the old style

they work, but I find the exposed fins are easy to damage and bend up...

you can find alot of installation info thru google...

that looks like it has fittings for hoses... So I say go down to your local auto store and pick up some 3/8" fuel line.
and that looks like the 3core rad I've got in my GP!
score!

nice find man

can't say I've ever seen anyone paint a cooler/rad...

I had hardlines from my trans. So I used a pipe cutter to cut them flush before the rad, then flared them for a good tight fit, and put on a 3/8" fuel hose. Make sure you ask for a fuel hose, cuz it's stiffer than regular hose and handles more pressure.

You could always use hardlines and install them to your rad/cooler using a pipe fitting... similar to brake lines...
But I found the hose setup easier...

ok and what should i use to mount the hose...dt need it dangling and getting burnt
you should need to mount it...
you should have some hard steel lines coming to the rad already. Just cut them a little bit from there, right before the rad, and use a hose.
