gLAd we're on this subject, because i just got a "older style" trans cooler(hayden) and need to install in my 86 elco with 200-4r transmission.now my question would be it says find the return line from transmission and install hose provided to it,then install fitting provided to rad and connect other end of hose from it to cooler.is this correct? and i seen a thread on monte ss stating the return line on a 200-4r is the bottom line of the two lines coming out of transmission? is this correct.

There is a reason why the transmission cooler is in the rad so the transmission fluid maintains proper operating temp...it's good to run another cooler in addition to the stock rad but make sure it isn't cooling the fluid too much...

And this is why you should run from the transmission, to the aftermarket cooler, to the rad, and then back to the transmission.

what happens when the fluid is "too cool" ?
