I can give a live and learn experience. I bought an '83 Hurst Olds with 24k miles and it was going to be the daily driver I dreamed about 20 years ago in high school. Well, long story short, I bought the car, flew to Florida to pick it up, and on the 2700 mile vacation/return trip I decided there is NO way I can drive this car as my daily driver so I am still driving my wrecked '94 Buick Lesabre and drive my H/O whenever it is nice.
I am going to buy a decent Cutlass for my Daily soon (after we move to our new place on 10 acres and a better shop), but I have decided it won't be a limited car like a 442 or H/O. I am gonna buy a vanilla Cutlass then fix it up how I want it.

why couldnt you drive it daily? becasue of its value?
I just dont understand what good it is --sitting in the garage.

just my opinion

No, because it is nearly 100% original and nearly mint (it's even signed by Jack Watson and Linda Vaugn (both of Hurst fame) ). If it had been a repaint and if the interior wasn't absolutely perfect I may not have such a hard time. If this wasn't a limited edition and was the standard Cutty, I also wouldn't have as much of a hard time. I have owned a 442 that was my daily for 5 years but it had been in a light wreck and fixed so I wasn't as worried about it.

Ironically, I would have rather had a Grand National and could have got one for what I gave for this car. I decided the turbo V6 wouldn't likely to be quite as reliable for a daily driver as the proven (to me) SBO of the Hurst so I got it instead.

As cool as it would be driving such a classic every day, it's still an old car. So you need a backup for the inevitable no start/conks out/needs work/etc, scenarios. 30K is a good thing though, probably the suspension is tight, not much rust, not burning oil. Check it out and decide. Not many of those left with such low mileage.

Don't go with a mint 442 as a daily driver. It's getting harder and harder to find them in nice condition. Using it as a daily is just going to put more wear and tear on the car, then it will eventually turn in to junk like most end up to be. I would suggest trying to find someone's completed project. You should be able to find a really nicely done car for a decent price.

Because of its rarity and preserving history, it doesn't have to sit in the garage at all times but can be enjoyed maturely every now and then and not daily where some asshat on their cell phone can rear end you or get stolen even...
Low mile all original mint condition 442s and Hurst are collector cars and extremely hard to come by.
You want my opinion, go buy a nice Supreme or Calais for $5000 with upgrades and use the rest of the funds to paint it like a 442.
Otherwise seeing your low post count you could be just trolling to see how many people you can piss off...

Don't take this the wrong way but you shouldn't be buying a rare low mile show car to use as a daily driver...

Agreed.

I'd by a cheap reliable car for a daily and the 442 for just a nice weather cruiser if you can afford it.
