I didn't say from the bottom, look inside the trunklid you will see 3 bolts to remove the trunk catch. Remove that then you can get in there to rivet it.

I got ya. But they are made to swing the other way. I will post up a pic to show you.

If its loose enough you can pry it up to swing the opposite way.

If not you have to use a Dremmel tool to open up the spring holder a little and shave down the stop a slight bit.
