SWEET! definatley a sleeper! you shoulda blacked out the chrome trim around the windows. Is that Hot Rod Flatz a base coat cleat coat? or just a single stage? looks good

Thanks! I was on somewhat of a time table for getting the paint/body work done. Plus, being on a budget. New wheels weren't in that budget either. The chrome was peeling, so I gave them a nice sandblasting, $50 for paint, and they match the rest of the theme. If I keep the car, I may change them. I do appreciate the feedback. 😀

That was the first thing my wife said when the car was done. "The chrome around the wing windows sticks out." I may get enough ambition to pull the doors apart over the winter. The Hot Rod Flatz is a single stage urethane. Shoot it and that's it. We ran into problems with the hood. The body has metallic and pearl flake in it. The first time we shot the hood, it came out with some slight tiger stripes. Got it to lay more evenly the second time. Thanks also for the compliment!

Ratt, Its Vern with a Cad powered 87 Olds 442 from Cadillacpower etc. Welcome to gbodyforum. I did not remember you have AC. I use the factory Gbody AC on mine with an Edelbrock and the brackets from an 80/81 368. Does the vintage AC use R12 or R134? You should post pics of the guages. More graveyard pics would also be cool.

Hey Vern! Thanks for the welcome! Yep, it's got A/C. Works rather nicely too! I think the A/C is charged with some stuff called Enviro-Safe? If I remember correctly it's R-22? You can mix it with the R-134. Nothing has leaked out yet. It's a little cold in the graveyard now for pics. Maybe in the spring, if the car doesn't sell by then.
