if i use an aftermarket rear axle ie. currie 9 inch or some other company, can i still use a an seperate aftermarket rear disc brake conversion? meaning do they make the axle the same as stock on the hub area and just use bigger stronger differential. after i finnish my engine i am assuming i will need to upgrade my rear end. checking prices now and am wanting to the brakes at the same time.

Most of the Axle Companies like Currie and Strange sell Wilwood or Baer brake kits as well. I just picked up a Strange Dana 60 for my Monte Carlo. The Baer Brake kit Strange carried was more for drag racing than street so I ordered my brakes directly from Baer.

When I ordered the rear end, they asked if I wanted the Ford Style or GM Style Axle Housing Ends. When I ordered the brakes they asked me which style Axle Ends my rear end had. The guys at Stange and Baer were actually pretty good at talking directly to each other to make sure I got the right stuff. It all bolted right up.

If you talk to Baer, ask for Rick, he is a G-Body guy and was very helpful. Just beware that Baer has long lead times so order 6-8 weeks before you need the stuff.

thanks a lot. now i just have to figure out what transmission im going to finish this car with so i can get the right gear ratio.
