Just switched from 750 vacuum secondaries to a 700 mechanical. Got the right power valve, float level, and jets. I also put new metering block and bowl gaskets on it. My problem is the driver side idle air screw does nothing. Even when I run it all the way in. The passenger side works fine. It doesn't seemed to b running rich, but the screw has NO efect. I sprayed thru screw hole and the air bleed and got good flow thru. I sprayed intake , carb base, and vacuum hoses looking for a vacuum leak. I'm out of ideas. Any help would b great

Pull the Carb and check your tranfer slot exposure. If its over exposed it will cause the Carb to pull fuel from the main circuit instead of the idle circuit and you lose control of the mixture screws.
Should look like a perfect square when its close.

When I ran a 650 DP I had to buy a mechanical fuel pump by Carter / FM to get the idle correct. Have you switched to a mechanical fuel pump? They are only about $15-25

Problem fixed. Thanks for response. Took carb off and blew brake clean backwards thru the transfer slot and while I had the idle screw out it looked like there was two threads missing n the middle of the air screw. So I replaced. Long story short... It works great
