I need get a price on regal hood hinges with the struts preferably or regular hood hinges for my monte shipped to Girard Illinois 62640. Trying to see what options are out there. My hinge springs are weak and I don't want a prop rod any longer

Do you have any reservations about modifying your existing monte hinges? I only ask because it's not very difficult.
No if I could get the correct part numbers I would in a heartbeat. All I keep finding is for fiberglass/aluminum hoods.

Mine were original a spring hinge so the bent down part is made on not a separate bolt on. The springs had been heated with a torch to lose tension for a fiberglass hood. I cut the rivits for the spring atm to mount to and tried to put struts on it but every part number I ran across was for fiberglass or aluminum hoods not steel. Not the weight rating for my hood

OK so just to clarify do you need the part numbers for a strut for a steel hood because it sounds like all you're running into is part numbers 4 glass or aluminum hood Or do you need part numbers for the hardware itself to make the conversion ?

I found a picture of your car hinge on another post. The angle part at the top that the strut ball bolts to looks like a separate part that moves the ball part up higher. On My hinge , that is a stamped part of the hinge. It's mounting hole is closer in than those with the separate piece.. if I could get a strut and ball that works with my hinge and a steel hood, I would be fine

This isn't my hinge but the same style. If you think what you did would work with this hinge I'll order struts and ball studs today. I just want to make sure it will hold a steel hood up not a strut for fiberglass or aluminum Screenshot_20250123-091644.png
