Remove hood hinge spring for fiberglass hood

Well I got it all figured out. I used a metal hanger and wrapped it around the end of the spring, pulled till it cleared, released the tension, and it popped right out! I kept the entire hinge assembly bolted to the fender and just put the new fiberglass hood on - lined right up and works perfectly!

How is the hood at speed? I had to put 2 hood pins on the front corners to keep the hood from fluttering.
I've only taken it up to highway speeds so far (65mph) and it seemed pretty locked in, no issues so far. We'll see when I finally get in on the track though...
