Just installed my new front sway bar and I am having a problem with the front frame braces hitting the new sway bar. Has anyone ever had this problem or have an idea on a fix for it?

When you put the bars back on, did you put them on the wrong way? The bend in the jounce bars isn't exactly in the middle, so that could be what the problem is. Try turning them around, and see if it clears that way.

I didn't fully remove the frame braces, only undid the bolts on crossmember side so I could swing them out of the way.

did you lower the car? are you sure you didn't put the sway bar in wrong? (hey, it happens)

lol I called hotchkis and sent them pics, they were shocked and had never heard of the problem. The guy who helped me was gonna ask around but my dad recommended putting washers on the frame brace to shim it out. the sway bar is in correct, I double and triple checked it. On the passenger side the frame brace does not hit but is ridiculously close to the bar and on the driver side it hits the sway bar bushing with like a 1/2 an inch or so to go till it's back in place...

I had to put a 3/16" shim under the entire frame mount on an Olds. This keeps the bushing compressed.
Make certain you have it on correct anyway.

I encountered the same problem when I upsized from 1-1/4" to 36mm
(1-7/16") Trans Am bar. My solution was to notch the bar out where it was hitting and reweld the area up.
