I've heard it's difficult to adjust the idle RPMs on later model Cutlasses. It seems they only have a mixture screw. This sucks, because my 307 idles in park around 795 RPM, and I've heard it should be around 700. Is this right? If so, how can I adjust the idle speed?

It adjusts the same way it does on a non-computer Quadrajet, with the idle speed screw on the same side of the carb as the bellcrank (driver's side) as that is what it contacts once the choke warms up. I would leave it where it is as far as idle speed goes. If you drop it much lower, it will not like to be in gear and could stall. I tried to look up the proper GM procedure for checking idle speed, but my GM factory service manuals, while detailed in every other possible way, do not specify the speed or manner in which to check it. All it says is to refer to the emissions label under the hood. So, read that thing and see what it says.

I have my idle set at 550-600 its got a nice lopey idle, but Brougham is right, if you run it any less than 500 in park your lible to stall the engine when put in drive. My idle is a little more lopey than stock not because of cam, but I manually advanced the timing.
