just bought a 1985 cutlass supreme brougham that had a alarm installed from the previous owners. i just need to know what does a regular alarm wires hook up to so i can remove it...its not active now becuase i removed one plug from the alarm box anyone have any good advice thanks...

Generally if an alarm is anything like a remote start the controller would hook up to a main power, ignition, power locks, and to any sensors, lights, or horns. Best bet is to look on the controller box and find the manufacturer and the model or serial number of the alarm and see if you can get wiring instructions for your make and model of car. This will tell you what wires you need to disconnect the alarm from.
Hope this helps.

If you're not having any electrical issues. I would just disconnect whatever you can from the main box and remove it if you can. The tie the wires up out of the way. So many things that could get broken or knocked loose while removing the alarm wiring. The will probably also be a shock sensor mounted to the steering column you could remove too.
